Neck pillow for long haul flight

Rivkka · 28/08/2019 09:24

Has anyone tried the TLTR neck pillow? Are they any good/better than the horseshoe shaped ones?

We are going on a ten hour night flight and I wondered whether to get one.

Any other tips gratefully received too.

I haven't but DH swears by it. First time he used it was 17 hours Sydney-Dallas and he said it was the first time he has ever got any real sleep in economy.

Not tried the one you mention but this is the best I have had. J pillow

That J pillow looks good, I've never seen those before.

I have the J pillow too, was much more comfortable than the previous U shaped one i had.

I have a j pillow. It's great but a bit bulky however you can attach it to your carry on.

I’ve looked at them before too but wasn’t sure if it’d be really warm, would be interested to hear others views. I used a memory foam one recently on a long haul flight but it was one that has kind of square edges rather than round and I couldn’t really get comfy at all with it.

I've also purchased the J pillow. Like pp say, it's good because you can clip it on your luggage, and it can be squished in to lots of different positions when on the flight.

Don't forget a good eye mask and earplugs if you're planning on sleeping 😴

I have a tltr. To be honest I don't really rate it. You feel like you're being strangled or it's too loose. Possibly, I don't think it's the right shape for me. I have quite a slim neck, although long for my height. I slept ok in it in a window seat but awfully in an aisle seat, both long haul.

I have used one of these ones and found it really comfortable. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07D59YSWK/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_4?smid=A1R02JBITNCVZ0&psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

J pillow is brilliant!

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 28/08/2019 13:31

Eleventying the J pillow, but if you get really stuck, use the u shaped one, but the wrong way round, so your chin is resting on it and the open bit is at the back of your neck.

(Just don't walk through the airport wearing it - so many people do and it just looks awful!)

Rivkka · 28/08/2019 22:26

I've ordered the J pillow, thanks for all the recommendations.

Not to spoil it, but we call it a dick pillow in this house. When it arrives you'll see why Grin

Rivkka · 31/08/2019 08:26

I see why you call it a dick pillow Shock

I'll be the talk of the airport Grin

I have the j dick pillow. Didn't work for me at all, I've found a normal shaped memory foam one with the gap at the back of the neck to be most effective for me. I don't sleep on planes anyway so I've just decided to embrace it , have a film fest and use sleeping tablets for a few nights when I get home.

Grin Works though, so enjoy your on board rest!
