Best dairy free spread to make buttercream?

Doing some baking for friends kids on Friday who are dairy free-have a lovely lemon drizzle cake which works fine with vegan spread, but want to make some chocolate or vanilla cupcakes to take too. Is there any spread that tastes better than others? Normally I’d use lurpak spreadable or similar but obviously that’s out Smile any help appreciated! Thank you!

I'd normally use vitalite, but instead of the 2:1 ratio of icing sugar to butter you'll need 3x the icing sugar to the amount of dairy free spread. Melt some dairy free chocolate to mix in with it if you want a chocolate 'buttercream'.

I used vitalite before so that’s great! Is cocoa powder vegan? I’m pretty sure it is...

I second Vitalite.
