Where to go for a balti in Birmingham

We're off to Birmingham for a mini-break tomorrow, it's not a city I know well but one of the things I want to do is have a proper Birmingham balti so where should we go? (We're staying near the Jewellery Quarter but we're happy to drive somewhere that gets insanely good recommendations Smile.

Thanks lovely MNers of Brum.

Lasan & Rajdoot are two of the best in the area. Been to both and they serve fab food.

Btw both are in the Jewellery Quarter then have a walk around to some of the bars. The Button Factory is nice.

Depends what you’re after - if you’re after something quite posh then yes Lasan, if you want something a bit more down and dirty then I recommend Ladypool Road, Al Frash is my favourite there.

Or Viceroy in JQ is nice as well!

Ladypool Road has lovely authentic food! Very cheap but also quite basic.

Pushkar in the centre was also quite good when I went and has a nice ambience.

Yes, Pushkars is lovely 😊

Ooh, thanks, I'll be with the children so bar-hopping limited Sad. Maybe I'll head for Ladypool Rd.

In that case I would highly recommend Lahore Village! lahore-village.co.uk. Their lamb bhuna is the best I have ever had. It looks like a greasy spoon cafe but service is fast, its cheap and the food is delicious.

+1 for the Lahore! Otherwise the Cosmopolitan in Moseley if it's still there?
