GCSE re-mark?

We've just got back from holiday today so only got GCSE results today.
DS got a 3 in his Computer Science exam. He says that his friend also got a 3 (he picked his up from school on Thursday) but his is to be re-marked. How do you know if your paper can be re-marked? Should it say on his results paper?

All his others just have the grade beside them but this one has a score as well and I'm not sure why. Can anyone help? Sorry, I don't have much of a clue about this stuff.

I think your best course of action is to contact the exams officer at school on Tuesday. They’ll likely be in as many are contracted to work during holidays. Your dcs teacher won’t be contactable until the new school year starts. He probably only advised your sons friend about a remark as he saw him on results day. I had a couple of parents ask me about remarks on results day and I told them if I thought it was worth it or not. It would be the exams officer who would arrange the remark anyway not the teacher. They will be able to advise about how close your ds was to the grade 4 boundary and what the cost would be. Good luck with your current situation.
