Restaurant in Edinburgh

We are having a very short city break in Edinburgh in October (I know it's ages away- I'm nothing if not organised!)
I haven't been to Edinburgh for about 25 years and DH and DC have never been. I'm sorted for how to fill our days but I could do with a recommendation for a restaurant for the evening. I really want to avoid the chain places but we don't have a huge budget. Quality, local food, moderately priced, nice setting and central would be amazing. Any recommendations?

The Lighthouse down at Newhaven if you like cooked to order fresh fish but you must book ahead. Origano a lovely Italian on Leith Walk.

Dubh Prais, Whiski bar or Usquabae.
Usquabae is probably my favourite of the three - last time we ate there we had a three course meal of local food for the same price as our previous (and definitely last) visit to Frankie and Bennys.
