Should I increase my dosage of Sertraline?

I've been on 50mg for 4 months now. I was prescribed it for physical symptoms of anxiety that I'd had for years and as a result I had a low mood at times. My mood has definitely improved a lot. The anxiety seems to be slower - Eg. If my anxiety before was at its worst at a score of 10, I'd say it's now about 6. I'm wondering should I ask the doc to go on 75mg, really don't want to take 100?

God yes up your dose
I'm on 150mg
The max you can go to is 200mg

Why on earth would you not want to if it's going to make you feel better??

No one is gonna give you a medal for 'only' taking 50, who will know? And who would care?

I don't think they make 75mg or 25mg. When I was tapering off last time I alternated 50 and 100 to even out at 75

These days I'm on 200mg...

Yes up the dose. If 50 has diminished your anxiety then an increase will diminish it further. I take 50mg sertraline but that's in addition to 4 other mental health medicines. A few years ago before my correct diagnosis I was on Sertraline alone I was titrated to the maximum dose and thats what it took to really help.

I went up to 75 for a while and split the tablets in half. My GP said that was fine

Sorry but I don't think you should be asking for advice from people on here who may use the same drug but have zero medical expertise. Please make an appointment with your GP.

@SilverySurfer I don't think anyone is suggesting that the OP change her dose without speaking to her GP (who would soon notice that prescriptions are going faster)
Just that it's fine to go up in dose to feel better
