MIL cooked us a curry for dinner, I thought at the time some of the chicken tasted weird but didn't say anything as didn't want to be rude. I did leave some of though and said I wasn't hungry.
That was at about 5.30.
I've woken up with horrendous stomach cramps and now can't get off the loo.
Its food poisoning isn't it? Sad
I'm not looking forward to seeing if 3yo ds is the same.

Doesn't sound good. Is your stomach gurgling? Any pain? Nausea?

WelshMoth · 20/08/2019 04:53

It would help if I read your OP fully. You poor thing. Get some old towels ready. Whatever happens, no Imodium - let this pass through you. Just make sure you get plenty of fluids back into you. Diyoralite if you can stomach it. Flat 7up if you can't.

If it’s food poisoning you son would have felt the effects first given a lower immune system and smaller intestines. You may want to check his bedding. If they are all clear it’s likely just a stomach bug or just good old diarrhoea

Food poisoning symptoms present 3-4 hours after the thing you ate, I thought?

No, someone can have food poisoning and not others when eating the same thing.

Its true that some can have food poisoning some not from the same meal. For many reasons, usually due to one pocket of food being more contaminated than the other ,sort of like drawing the short straw.
Symptoms can start 30 minutes-8 hours after eating contaminated food.
Should be better within a week
Get well soon x

Bacteria like Campylobacter, E. coli, and Salmonella are the most common cause of bacterial food borne illness, says Dr. Pandolfino

"They can take from one day to a week before they manifest and are usually the ones associated with (undercooked) meat and poultry, but can also be associated with unpasteurized milk and egg yolks," he says. That means you can't always blame the last meal you had
