Anyone done Budapest with a young child/baby?

We're off to Budapest at the start of September for a week as DP is having some dental work there. I've done a bit of reading and it seems it is quite a child friendly city, is this true?

Any suggestions for activities? I see there is a zoo and an aquarium, are they nice, with nice enclosures for the animals?

DD loves swimming so we will go to the lido which looks great. I can't get a clear idea from my research whether the big spa would be suitable for DD. DP and I love a spa and baths so we would like to go if possible.

DD will be 11 months so we'll have a pushchair.

Also, does anyone know what types of baby formula you can get? DD generally has aptimal or cow and gate, but she doesn't have a particularly sensitive tummy so we can buy others. I don't want to weigh down the suitcase with boxes of formula!

Thanks in advance!

We went when DD was 20 months, about 7years ago. Only stayed a few days, trying to remember now what we did. We managed some ‘grownup sightseeing”- Jewish museum, boat trip on the Danube and over the Buda for the castle and fisherman’s bastion. We spent a day at szechenyi spa with DD, and tbh, there were so many small parks in the city that most of her fun time was spent playing there, while we chilled out and watched her. It was a great city for kids, from memory.

There are loads of little playgrounds dotted all around so I would do exactly what you like interspersed with those. It is a l9vely city. I would say the baths wouldn't be great as they are so busy but there are other less popular ones that will be less busy. There is lots going on on Margaret Island but as your dc is so young they will probably just be happy with different sights and a few swings?
The zoo is ok, didn't visit the aquarium.

At 11 months I’d probably just give full fat cows milk or take enough formula for an evening and/or morning feed and have cows milk or water the rest of the time.
