Has anyone hired a little motorboat?

I always fancy hiring a little motorboat when on holiday on the coast.

Has anyone done this? I have NO experience in such things. Does that matter?!

Yes, we did. Great fun for first half hour, then was a bit boring. Also got seriously sunburnt!
Was great for getting to beaches that others couldn’t get to.
It was years ago in Cyprus, no experience necessary and a very basic run through the controls beforehand.
