Anyone know how to get cheap last min deals at CP etc?

Husband and I have just managed to scrimp together some money - a few hundred quid. We've never been away with our kids ever despite both working full time - just haven't had the money.

So we thought, as husband is off for the next 2 weeks, we would see if we could get 2-4 days at center parts, haven etc. Not really our thing, but it would mean kids have a break.

Any last minute deals - even if we go away tomorrow - are still £700-1000. How is that possible? I like the idea of center parks because of the horse riding, but anything would do...yet we can't find anything!

Just seems silly that they are still charging fair whack for rooms which will remain empty.

I don't know that centre Parcs ever has cheap deals in school holidays but you can normally get nice caravana on last min breaks

We often book direct with owners if you google ukcaravans4hire

We've been to some nice sites and much cheaper than booking direct than the site

Haven have the cheap deals at the minute either Monday-Friday or Friday - Monday . Centre PARC's are only ever cheaper during term time. This is the only way we ever hot to go using DH paternity week. We have just done a Haven and spent around 400 pound. For that we upgraded the caravan last minute on arrival too which was a bonus. Again not our thing but the kids really enjoyed it and it is what you make it - hope you find something x

Look at Forest Holidays, smaller than Center Parcs, or there are loads of other things to do like glamping.

Try Hoseasons, my friend got a Monday to Friday for £229 booking a week before they went.

CO never have offers or cheap deals unfortunately.

At a caravan park, should have said

Haven are doing breaks from £249. I don’t think Center Parcs do last minute discounts.

Butterymuffin · 17/08/2019 23:29

I think they just don't do last minute discounts. It's like Premier Inn, the price goes up if anything rather than down.

As above, but if you really want to try horse riding, you’ll have a far better experience, and almost certainly save money, but trying a local stables, near to wherever you do stay. Google then and have a call round. Many will be able to cater for adults if different abilities, as well as children.

Have fun.

Avoid Center Parcs, it’s extortionate even with a cheap deal. You pay for all entertainment and activities once you get there and do everything is overpriced. You can get cheap last minute deals for Butlins and Haven booked a couple of weeks in advance for under £300. Butlins might seem more expensive initially but it’s better value because the funfair is free and the entertainment is superior. I don’t know where you are but I would recommend the Minehead camp. The Sun newspaper are doing the £9.50 holidays again too for haven and Butlins but you’ll be restricted to certain dates.

Center Parcs in the uk seem to be cheapest about 8 weeks before. The Europeanises have better last minute deals if the journey would be ok for you.
