Grin

It’s years since I’ve been and I’m not familiar with the current rides......i’m Sure they stayed on when I went on The Corkscrew as a kid.

I lost my glasses on the log flume at Alton Towers

FourEyesGood · 17/08/2019 18:12

I take mine off when I go on ‘thrill’ rides. It’d be so annoying to lose them!

mumderland · 17/08/2019 18:13

I got daily contact lenses when I last went, not worth the risk

Hmm. I don’t want to lose them. My eyesight is -11 and I’m blind as a bat without them and would be scared on the rides not being able to see. Will order some contacts I think.

What do you do with your handbag while on a ride?

I’m sorry but the thread title made me laugh out loud!

Skyejuly · 17/08/2019 18:16

I took mine off in a bumbag lol

VivaLeBeaver · 17/08/2019 18:19

I guess I could embrace the full on dork look, get a bum bag and a glasses strap! 🤓😎

DS took me on Smiler a few weeks back. Glasses would definitely fall off. There are little cubby holes to put bags in whilst you are on the ride.

yulet · 17/08/2019 18:26

They dont let you wear them, they'll tell you to take then off.

If you're not afraid of looking like a wanker, you could try some cheap prescription swimming goggles?? Grin

Princessfaffalot · 17/08/2019 18:27

Yes definitely! We’re going to Thorpe Park on Monday and I’m terrified my shoes are going to drop off!

VivaLeBeaver · 17/08/2019 18:29

I don’t think they make prescription swimming goggles powerful enough for me. They’d be so thick and heavy I would sink like a stone. I can’t even get prescription sunglasses made for me.

I saw someone at the gym the other week who was wearing prescription swimming Goggles on the rowing machine as they’d forgotten their contacts!

Really?? Losing your glasses is the last thing you need to worry about Grin don't go there!

BestIsWest · 17/08/2019 18:31

Possibly yes. Mine almost fell off on Space Mountain in DLP. The g-force was so great I couldn’t lift my hand up to push them back up my nose.

soundsystem · 17/08/2019 18:31

DH is in a similar predicament in that he really can't see without his. We have a series of those pictures you get on rollercoasters where he's just clinging on to his glasses/face.

Oblomov19 · 17/08/2019 18:33

Yes take your glasses off.
You don't lose your shoes at Thorpe park. GrinI go regularly.

VivaLeBeaver · 17/08/2019 18:35

I have special orthotic shoes, they’re not falling off on anything! Grin

Bumbag
Orthotic shoes
Milk bottle glasses with a glasses strap.

I’m going to look sexy! Grin
