Trip to Efteling/ Amsterdam hotel recs

Hi all

I’m posting in chat for a bit more traffic. If anyone has suggestions I’d be very grateful.

I am taking my two DC to Efteling for 3 nights at half term. We are staying 3 nights in the park but I was then thinking of booking an extra night at either Schipol or in Amsterdam itself - thinking was we could then spend some time in the park on our last day and also going into Amsterdam if we fancy but also have the option of getting a later flights back and perhaps going into Amsterdam the next day. I don’t drive so we are using public transport. It’s just me and my DCs as single parent.

Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations on hotels a all? And also if it would be best to stay at Schipol itself ( thinking we could leave bags?) or stay in Amsterdam?

Any thoughts or recommendations very gratefully received! Not looking for anything really fancy.

Try efteling for brits Facebook page. Where are you staying in the park? It's a wondeful, glorious place.

We stayed 4 nights and did one day to Amsterdam but we drove. Amsterdam is so lovely.

Thanks @Gobbolinocat ( I loved gobbolino the witches cat as a kid btwSmile) - it was pretty booked up so they only had the Efteling hotel available unfortunately. I am looking forward to it though!

Efteling Hotel is fine, lovely restaurant.

It's on entirely opposite side of park to Bosrijk, and you have to cross road. Check out Bosrijk when you there. The sandman lake and the restaurant. Its so pretty and atmospherric. Also cheap apartments there. Its glorious place. You will get more help on your travel from the fb page. Enjoy!

We went a couple of years ago and stayed three nights at Amsterdam Ibis at central station and then two nights at Efteling hotel . Used public transport, flew in and out of schipol. Ibis was really handy for travelling as it's literally on the platform of central station and links with loads of tram lines to explore Amsterdam.

Thanks @ShoesJerry will take a look at the ibis - that’s really what I’m looking for something that is just easy for connections as we won’t have much time
