Weve been renting a year and we love tbis house but the past couple of weeks the house is swarming in ants i cant take it anymore. I cleanesd everywhere yesterday with white vinegar hooverd all the ants up before bed and put them in outside bin. Just woke up and i have came downstairs and now the sides are covered in ants there crawling up the sofas and the floor. Im dreaming about them crawling on me im loosing my mind. And to top it off everynight our living room has a good 10 slugs in there ive thrown a good two rugs away!!

What on earth can i do, is this a landlord issue or not?

When you see one ant there'll be another 2,000 waiting round the cornerGrin
First get some ant bait and follow the instructions. They take it to their nest, share it then die. Worked for us anyway. Ants outside I just leave alone. They are especially active at this time of year.

Slugs. We get them in our garage and covered side passage, along with snails. When I've had enough I put slug pellets down.
In your shoes I'd tell the landlord as they're getting in somewhere and it's not what you want in your living room! He/ she needs to check where they're coming in and do something about it.

If you have an insect infestation when you move in & note it on the inventory, then the landlord is responsible for pest control for a year.

However, since this started a year after you moved in, I am afraid it is your responsibility.
You can try Ant Stop. These are granules that you sprinkle where the ants run. You need to watch the ants...they will have little motorways and try and find where they are coming from...Ikea hole in corner or window sill. Put the Ant Stop down and watch to make sure ants walk through it. This poison goes back with them to the nest and kills the queen. It takes a couple days. On Day 2, put down fresh Ant Stop to get any survivors or in case there is more than one nest. We had ants in our attic that invaded our upstairs bathroom and bedrooms and this sorted them.
Slugs are probably coming in under your front door or around sides. Best solution is to make sure you have new weather stripping...especially the stuff that is like a stiff brush. You can put down salt on the threshold too as that will kill them as well. Make sure you thoroughly wash your hands and any slime trails as slugs carry rat lungworm which can infect humans (this has spread from China & Australia to Spain and recently been found in U.K.).

Ants were the easiest thing to get rid of ime, the worst was fleas Angry.

Ants are only really interested in a food source, they know your house has some sort of easy food source so have invaded. Do you keep open food packets on the worktops or in lower cupboards? Do you keep even the tiniest of crumbs on the worktops/floor? Any dirty dishes left out overnight?

Also, do you have any pets? They LOVE cat/dog biscuits, that was their food source in my home so I stopped leaving surplus biscuits in the bowl.

Slugs are a bastard but basically put salt along the doorframe and all over the doorstep. They tend to get in under the door-frames, rancid.

Icing sugar and barcarb soda.
Equal mix in a jar, stick it anywhere you have ants ...
Ants will be gone in two days max.
Both have grains the same size.
Ants can't fart, so they.
It also kills the nest....
Slugs, use salt.
