Is there an aluminium free deodorant that actually works?!

I’ve tried so many, and they are ok for day to day life but I need something a bit stronger for when I am exercising. They seem to make me smell more??

Has anyone got a natural deodorant that will actually work? And that I can buy from a shop?

Salt of the Earth spray deodorant works well for me.

RezCowgirl · 16/08/2019 13:21

Its not natural but Lidl basic roll-on has no aluminum.

I really rate the Aurelia one, it’s not cheap but I’ve not found a natural deodorant I find better than this.

I like Urtekram. I buy online but you can get them in bricks and mortar shops too eg the Green supermarket in Totnes in Devon (not seen them anywhere else recently).

Waitrose sell Neal's Yard and Green People.

As a barometer, has anyone used anything at Triple Dry’s level and found a natural replacement that’s still effective?

Malin and Goetz eucalyptus deodorant. Pricey but has worked very well for me this summer and I'm peri menopausal so hot all the time!

Can't buy it from a shop, but Nuud is good.

Have you tried and can you tolerate baking soda formulas? For me they're generally bombproof. Excellent recipe here if you fancy making your own. Lush do some too. I like Aromaco but not everyone likes patchouli.
Unfortunately I developed a sensitivity to the active ingredient and had to start the search again. I find Schmidt's pretty good, but my all-time favourite is Aesop. It's crazy expensive but I've repurchased many times. It smells amazing and is pretty effective as these things go.
I've tried dozens of brands that are basically flavoured water (Neal's Yard, Weleda, anything lavender or rose scented etc) and like you I feel they make me smell even worse than nothing at all. Dh swears by the Neal's Yard lavender one but he never smells anyway!

I'm a very very sweaty betty - previously have used Odaban (sp?) spray under dermatologist reccommendations - I now use the Native Unearthed coconut and vanilla version and honestly it's amazing. I've come to believe that the whole anti perspiratant market is one massive swizz.

NannyR · 16/08/2019 14:45

I use the salt crystal deodorants, just because they are the only type of deodorant or antiperspirant that keeps me smelling fresh all day. They don't stop me sweating (but sure, mitchum, nivea etc never did either!), But they do stop BO. Very cheap and long-lasting too. They do contain alum, which I think is aluminium related though.

Bionsen is fab, I’ve tried lots but keep going back to it.

LabiaMinoraPissusFlapus · 16/08/2019 15:49

Salt of the Earth Classic (a lump of salt that you moisten and apply)- amazing as I had tried so many that were useless. Even my husband finds it works in a manual job. Also, Moo Goo is pretty good, but Salt of the Earth is the best. I buy it from Ocado.

oreosoreosoreos · 16/08/2019 16:04

noneintheforeststoday I've head the Native one is good, but that it can stain clothes, which put me off it!

I've been using nuud, but I find it a bit hit and miss - used it on hols in 35 degrees and it worked well, but at home sometimes I'm a bit whiffy after one day! Not sure maybe I'm not using enough some times, but it's hard to judge!

Chipsahoy · 16/08/2019 20:03

Activated charcoal on Amazon, it's award winning apparently. I used to have to use Mitchum I sweat so much and used to smell. I use this stuff now and I don't have any probs at all, even when it was 34c the other week. Life changing. Loves it.

Tippytappytoes · 16/08/2019 20:37

Another vote for Salt of the Earth. I use both stick and spray.

MissClementine · 16/08/2019 21:30

Just started using bionsen and I smell sweaty at end of day as do my clothes.
