Anyone in Loughborough area? Quick question re buses

I am getting train to Loughborough and then need to get the number 1 bus to a village between there and Nottingham. Just wonder if anyone knows can I pay the fare in cash or do I need to buy a ticket or have an app to pay?
Thank you for any help

You can pay cash - but you may need the exact money
