Where do French people get their house numbers from?

The lovely blue and white enamel ones? I can see some companies make them if I google but, surely, French people just buy them from a hardware store if they want them. I've looked in a M. Bricolage before I couldn't see any. Does anyone know?

I don't know where French people get them from but there are always tons of them on eBay if you have time to search for the right numbers.

Yes, can see lots on Ebay so may resort to that. Am in France atm so was hoping to just pick one up here.

Are there any locals around where you are staying who you could ask?

MrsGolightly · 14/08/2019 17:22

Generally local Vide Grenier or brocantes.

SwedishEdith · 14/08/2019 17:25

Hmm, mostly Dutch and Belgians but good idea re asking. There's a vide grenier tomorrow so will keep my eyes peeled. Just assumed their diy sheds wold sell them.

French hardware stores like Bricorama and Castorama should sell them.

SwedishEdith · 14/08/2019 17:39

Thanks Frenchmom. Hopefully, I'll see a big one before we leave to check again.

I'm pretty sure that I've seen them in Truffaut. It's a garden centre

Squiff70 · 14/08/2019 17:45

You could try Maisons du Monde or Castorama. Good luck!

SwedishEdith · 14/08/2019 17:52

Ah, more suggestions! Thank you.

Quand vous achetez votre enseigne, on parle français dans le magasin.

SwedishEdith · 14/08/2019 18:37

Bien sur.

You can often get them in supermarket key cutting concessions.

Glittertwins · 14/08/2019 18:57

I've seen them in the larger supermarkets

I got some years ago in Pezenas which is a popular medieval tourist town in South of France. It was a ceramics shop, not put them up yet though, not until the DIY mountain is complete!
