In an Airbnb in the middle of nowhere... woke up an hour ago and thought it was morning as DD has a light on. Sleeping on a mattress on floor in a hay lift type set up.... also worried about spiders...

Pieceofpurplesky · 13/08/2019 02:14

Yep. Bathed. Clean sheets. Early night.
Still awake.
I am knackered but sleep won't happen

PotterHead1985 · 13/08/2019 02:15

Don't. Mention. Spiders. Last nights insomnia was also plagued with them. I don't want any for tonight's episode thanks!

sawyersfishbiscuits · 13/08/2019 02:19

Sorry @PotterHead1985 we did a check before bed. I'm hoping that my cute DS who is sleep-whistling through his nose next to me is keeping them away.

We have a few hours before the rooster wakes us up! 😂

wigglybeezer · 13/08/2019 02:21

I've got self inflicted Insomnia had to drink a coffee to perk myself up enough to drive late to collect DS2 from an event. I'll probably drop off soon but usually wake at 5 and go over things in my head pointlessly...going to try a dull podcast now, wish me luck.

namechangedyetagain · 13/08/2019 02:22

Yep. Too much on my mind. And probably had too much wine last night so now stressing about that. DS has a sore finger that looks like it's getting infected so I think needs a phone call to the doctor at 8am. Supposed to be having meeting with work and with counsellor in the morning as well.

I'm so tired and yet I never sleep properly and deeply - with or without wine!

meepmoop · 13/08/2019 02:25

I'm awake as DS is having a party in his cot. He's currently shouting out different colours

tryingtobebetterallthetime · 13/08/2019 02:29

I downloaded MySleepButton a few days ago and I think it is working for me. Cautiously optimistic as nothing ever worked before. A gentle voice names things for you to visualize. I don't think I've made it past the first 10 to 15. Might be worth a try.

Nevth · 13/08/2019 02:30

I live in the US at the moment so also awake (barely)! I use the podcast 'Sleep with me' which makes me fall asleep immediately. To me, it's the equivalent of someone telling me about their dreams - outrageously boring. His voice is incredibly soothing too.

Monday55 · 13/08/2019 02:32

Took a 3hr nap earlier and woke up at 9pm, so I doubt I'll be going bed anytime soon 😥

Sunflowers11 · 13/08/2019 02:36

I'm up, finished nights this morning but still in nigh shift mode. Just watched Avengers Infinity War all ready for End Game Release in September!

ImposterSyndrome101 · 13/08/2019 02:36

Awake with anxiety, my nephew with anxiety and a load of tasks I've put off doing all day that need to be done by tomorrow.

tryingtobebetterallthetime · 13/08/2019 02:38

I tried Sleep with me and it helped a bit. My Sleep Button has so far worked very fast.

Sunflower20 · 13/08/2019 02:40

Yeah I've had this problem for ages now. It's seriously affecting my productivity at work. Got to be up again at 8am :(
I don't know why I just WON'T sleep and instead I'm on mumsnet!!!

tryingtobebetterallthetime · 13/08/2019 02:44

Give the sleep button thing a try. Nothing to lose. I think I might have to pay something after a trial period but trying it is free. This thread made me look it up and it was developed by a cognitive scientist at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Honest, I have no stake in it. I just stumbled on it somewhere. Maybe it was a Mumsnet, I can't remember. I am an "expert" on insomnia having taken way too much prednisone over the years for colitis.

Brot64 · 13/08/2019 03:06

I am still up despite being in bed since midnight. Currently listening to a sleep hypnosis video on YouTube. It's going to be a very long day tomorrow or rather today.

Mileysmiley · 13/08/2019 03:29

Yep .. I have an over active thyroid which is great in the day because I have so much energy but it stinks at night!

namechangedyetagain · 13/08/2019 03:30

I'm still awake as well. Whole house is snoring, taunting me with their lovely restorative sleep.

No wonder I look so rough and dull. I will be like a zombie today.

Mileysmiley · 13/08/2019 03:37

@namechangedyetagain

The trouble with my illness is that I don't look tired ... eventually I will go underactive again but it could take years! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

cheeseislife8 · 13/08/2019 05:37

Ugh, spiders shudder

Mileysmiley that sounds rough 😢

I'm currently listening to the pouring rain, it has a calming effect but now it's getting light!

cheeseislife8 · 13/08/2019 05:39

I'm going to try Sleep with me! Not heard of that one. Thank you!

Dowser · 13/08/2019 06:37

Slept from midnight till 4

Must get another sleep
So much to do today

Argh
Being awake when you need to sleep sucks

tisonlymeagain · 13/08/2019 06:52

Pregnancy insomnia kicking my ass. Then eventually fell asleep to be woke by a barking deer at 4.30am, then the crazy bird that chirps every morning started at 5.30 and then my sons Fitbit which was by my bed had an alarm set for 6.30 so I've given up Sad

cheeseislife8 · 13/08/2019 08:36
