Should mine and my daughter’s dress co-ordinate when we are wedding guests?

Wedding is on Saturday. Just got our outfits out to see if they need ironing etc.

Just realised that my dress and my daughters (4yrs old) dress will clash. Hers is floral with pink/purple/cream colours. Mine is mainly emerald green with some navy and orange (sounds awful but is quite nice in real life!)

Me and my husband will look coordinated (purely by coincidence) because his suit is navy.

But our daughter doesn’t.

Does this matter? Should I look for a dress for daughter that will match? (No way I’m getting myself a different dress, took asaaasges just to find this one!)

It really won't matter :)

I do think its nice when you are all in the same colour 'palette', but I wouldn't go out and get DD another dress at this stage.

Hope you all have a lovely time!

Cool. I don’t think I can be bothered. Plus she loves this dress

Unless you're hoping to get some nice family photos of the three of you while you're at the wedding, I don't think it matters

Whitney168 · 12/08/2019 18:11

Although I'm not a matchy matchy person and would definitely say you don't need to match ... if you like getting photos of the three of you taken as a family at occasions, it might be nicer if you didn't actively clash. If it was easy enough and not a budgetary worry to replace, I might now you've noticed it.

BruceAndNosh · 12/08/2019 18:14

Just make sure that your navy clad husband stands between you and your daughter for the entire day

reginafelangee · 12/08/2019 18:17

I think its weird to consider it.

Wear what you each like and suit.

ShirleyPhallus · 12/08/2019 18:18

I really thought you were going to say you were 60 and your daughter 40

That would have been a more juicy thread

cavycavy · 12/08/2019 19:36

I think I’ve looked at Pinterest too much.

Would be nice to have a family photo. But I’ll print it in black and white to avoid making eyes bleed.

Or I’ll find a woman in a dress which blends with hers better and take photos of them together and then simply photoshop my face onto the woman.

People actually do this? Beyond strange.

cavycavy · 12/08/2019 22:06

@Cherrysoup I don’t know, hence asking the question. Above are a some responses, mostly suggesting that people don’t do this.
