Where would you go?

I want something nice but not a romantic dinner a deux

What's your budget and which part of London?

munemema · 11/08/2019 19:17

The City, South Bank, West End. It doesn't matter really. Budget can be fairly elastic. £150 including wine for 2? But Ok if it's cheaper too, it doesn't need to be flash.

Depends what you mean by fun I suppose but for a date I think I'd probably go for tapas as the places tend to be buzzy and you can try lots of different dishes. So I'd look at Barrafina, Salt Yard or Ember Yard in Soho or Brindisa in Borough Market (& other locations).

Brasserie Zedel in Piccadilly Circus is a lovely venue or Bob Bob Ricard nearby too.

Otherwise I like Flesh & Buns or Yauatcha.

Bob Bob Ricard is fun with the press for champagne buttons.

Boisdales is a laugh usually.

If you like Dim Sum then get To Opium
Fabulous food and amazing cocktails

Sorry - I've just seen you said NOT a date! Blush

I think the tapas places are still good if you're trying to avoid hushed tones and being surrounded by other couples. Anywhere with big family tables as well e.g. Nopi or Burger & Lobster!

Love Temper in Soho. Excellent food and you can sit next to where they cook. They happily engage with you or leave you to it.
