Surely vinegar doesn't go off?

It'll be fine.

WowOoo · 11/08/2019 16:20

I've just used the last of my gone off one. It'll be fine - it's not like loads is used anyway.
My cider vinegar looks dodgy. Going to let someone else taste test that.

I've got come celery salt that I bought in 1983 and is still going strong. Likewise a bag of nutmegs bought around the same time.

Anyway, it is a sell-by date, not a use-by.

Vinegar is a preservative, and 2018 was almost yesterday - you'll be fine as long as it smells ok!

You all echoed my thoughts, used it in my redcurrant relish and it's fine!
