It's my birthday today and once again it's going by like a normal day.

Yes. I don’t bother any more 💐🎁🎂 happy birthday.

WeirdAndScary · 10/08/2019 17:17

Yup. It's either near Mother's Day or Easter and I got sick of the excuses. So I ignore it completely. Which means I am perpetually 25....

Happy Birthday! Cake

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 10/08/2019 17:19

Ah, I'll stay 30 then as that was the last good one I had

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear TaliZorahVasNormandy,
Happy Birthday to yoooouuuuuu!

Next year, book the day off. Go somewhere that you want to go to. Do what you want to do.

After several rubbish birthdays, I make a definite plan for something nice. Usually a night away, usually only me and DH. I

ZetaPuppis · 10/08/2019 17:23

Yeah you have to make the birthday you want happen.
Don’t rely on others to make it a special day for you.
I write everyone’s birthdays on a calendar and put mine in big letters then tell everyone ‘oooh there’s a really special day this month!’ And occasionally remind them again.
I arrange a get together with friends on a day convenient for everyone. The kids bake me a cake and wish me a happy birthday, along with dh, with small gifts.

ZetaPuppis · 10/08/2019 17:23

Oh and happy birthday! Cake

IgnoranceIsStrength · 10/08/2019 17:24

I do! Every year unless I make an effort..usually working though and with young kids hard to arrange anything good

easterbuns1 · 10/08/2019 17:25

I hate birthdays. I know comparison is the thief of all joy but I always see my to make a fuss about other people's and then no one gives a toss about mine.

helpmeiamatoad · 10/08/2019 17:26

My birthdays are usually lovely. However this year my grandfather sadly died unexpectedly. So I don’t think they will be lovely again for a long time Sad

Dangerfloof · 10/08/2019 17:26

Every year my bday falls on a bank holiday, every year its forgotten.
So I gave up some time ago and will only ever be 26. In reality I'm 50 next

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 10/08/2019 17:28

That's how I feel Easter Everyone always has better things to do, but always want fuss for their own.

I do. And my DS16 is being admitted to hospital (again) today and my birthday in next week so it looks like this one will be a write off too.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 10/08/2019 17:34
