Any PT's out there? How much cardio is too much cardio?

I read an article the other day about doing too much cardio and it having an effect on your endochrine system and could be counter intuitive and make you put on weight so I wondered, how much would be too much? I am looking to overhaul my diet and exercise regime and was thinking of using my spin bike or running for 30-45 minutes a day, which is pretty intense cardio. Is this too much? I would back it up with some strength exercises too.

I'd swap running for forty min with 15-20 min HiiT a couple of times a week which is generally deemed ok

One day on one day off recovery is important!

I do spin 2x a week, kettlebells x1 and weight training 2 x a week. The weights while not strictly cardio really leave me breathless

That’s fine for cardio - generally 2.5 hours a week minimum is recommended. So if you were doing your 30-45 minutes five days a week that’s good. You can do as much in less time with Hiit. It’s too much when you feel sore, tired, run down and can’t recover from cardio easily - it differs from person to person. Add strength training. As @cultwarning says you need rest days, but it doesn’t have to be every other day. Add strength training but if doing that every day mix it up (so arms, shoulders and back one day, legs, abs and glutes next etc).
Track what you do to see improvements.
