Hi. I will be catching a train to Sheffield with my boys aged 6 and 8 on Monday. Need to spend some time there then catch a train home again. Can anyone suggest anything we can do please? Or is anything on? Thank you.

Sheffield by the Seaside is on, it's behind the Winter Gardens. Sandpit, water fountains, eye-wateringly expensive rides.
Winter gardens are nice for a quick walk around. The millenium galleries are beside that and have some child friendly exhibits.
I think there's some lego event on too but not seen anything about that yet.

Take a towel and change of clothes for Sheffield by the sea. If you want to go indoors after the sandpit, rides etc, the winter garden is nice as are the millennium galleries and the children's library is always a good place to spend an hour or so. If your children like art above the library there is an art gallery. Ponds Forge is also in the city centre the leisure pool is usually popular with children

I've just remembered the national Emergency service museum is also fun

Millennium galleries, winter garden, seaside event in the peace gardens, Weston Park Museum and gardens, police and fire museum, Kelham island museum, magna centre, Manor lodge and park, Heeley city Farm, whirlow Hall Farm, Hillsborough park, meersbrook park, endcliffe Park, botanical gardens, there's currently a carnival in graves Park, several soft plays, Hillsborough or ponds forge leisure pool, several theatres there are often child friendly productions. Several cinemas, meadowhall, ikea, valley centretainment there is ten pin bowling, crazy golf, trampoline park, ice rink, lazer quest, there are several indoor climbing walls. Some of this is a team or bus ride out of the centre.
Have fun.
