Where's the Whalley Bridge water going???

Where are they pumping it too?

And what is the area going to do for water after this??

Just wondering is there any longer term issues that the residents may need to face.

I was wondering this too. I thought if they are pumping it out locally, won’t it end up flowing back into the reservoir eventually?

From what I have seen and heard the Whaley Bridge reservoir is used to feed water into the canal system rather than for supplying homes.

Yes it isn't for the residents.

The pumped water is gonig into the River Goyt so it flows futher down stream. They need to control this as the Goyt goes through other towns and so they cannot rush it otherwise banks may burst and flood.

Judging by the colour of it it didn’t look like it was destined for drinking water

DD asked me this.
I wasn't sure.

So glad that someone else asked this.
I asked DH the other day, as he's the font of all wisdom, and he gave me a 5 minute explanation about ....... eco/environment/sandbagging/Chinooking/living in the arse end of Derby/Bakewell tarting/goiters/ iodine insufficiency et al.
So I smiled and said 'You don't know do you' 'no, says he so we asked our 10 year old smart arsed DGS Blush who gave us the same answer as stated above.
