I'm waiting for the cooker to warm up so I can roast a chicken. We'll have it with roast spuds, stuffing, a selection of veg, Yorkshire puds and gravy. Maybe a cheese sauce if I cba.

I’ve had a beef madras in the slow cooker since about 9am! Can’t wait!

BobbyBrewstersMagicTorch · 04/08/2019 15:59

A salad with lots of bits and pieces, ie lemon couscous with cashews and apricots, roast turmeric cauliflower, soya bean, sugarsnap and coriander salad, pomegranate and toasted pumpkin seeds, houmous. As well as all the usual salad veg.

Having this with ham, quiche, boiled eggs, prawns or tikka chicken.

Don't normally do all this but felt in a Nigella mood today 😁

I’m making a fish pie for dinner with gnocchi topping - really looking forward to it. Have also made a Nigella quadruple chocolate loaf cake. Hoping to just have a little bit (for testing purposes only) before sending it to work with DH tomorrow. We have plenty of dessert/sweets in the house already so the cake needs to disappear!

lucysmam · 04/08/2019 16:06

@trotesio oh yes

I love cheese sauce and Yorkshires. If I could be arsed, it'd be a cauliflower cheese but I don't think I can!

Meatballs in the slow cooker, made by my own fair hand(s) 😄.
They’ve been in on low heat since 11am and are due out at 5pm.
Dh is currently doing roast potatoes and carrots to go with them.
I can smell them. Mmmmm.

Tarchie · 04/08/2019 16:12

Roast chicken, salad and jacket potatoes. Although now I’ve read Lucy’s post, I’m really in the mood for yorkshires, roasties and cheese sauce!

Roast chicken, potatoes, veggies. Made a homemade mayo yesterday too so have made roast chicken and mayo sandwiches with all the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. It was a big chicken, lots of meat left after dishing dinner up.

Chloecoconut · 04/08/2019 17:03

Mummydoctor · 04/08/2019 17:04

Chilli beef empanadas. Not a clue what I'm going to serve them with though 🤔

Pipandmum · 04/08/2019 17:06

Hungarian goulash. Waitrose recipe really simple (onions, roasted peppers, beef, stock, hot paprika, sour cream and chives).

MegBusset · 04/08/2019 17:07

Barbecue with veggie burgers and sausages, corn on the cobs, peppers and halloumi. Hoping it stays dry!

lucysmam · 04/08/2019 17:18

@PotteringAlong would you share your madras recipe? I can never get curry right in the S.C :(

OP posts:
PotteringAlong · 04/08/2019 17:52

Honestly? I use this paste because I could never get it right either, but the paste seems to work. Cheating, but true. I use stewing steak.

onlyhereforthefood · 04/08/2019 17:53

Roast chicken crown, stuffing, yorkshires, roast potatoes done in the actifry, mix of veg and gravy.

If I get my arse in gear and put the chicken in.

Crunchymum · 04/08/2019 17:56

Older kids and DP are out for our nieces birthday (they went to a funfair. Didn't really want to bring the pram / baby) so they'll grab a bite on the way home.

I'm going to order myself a Pad Thai.

Grumpbum123 · 04/08/2019 17:57
