If I get rid of sky what should I get instead.

I’ve had enough of them. I’ve complained about the price again and they have offered me frankly a rubbish deal to stay - so that’s it.

We have Netflix but need a normal signal for for the TV and something that can tape things.
We watch the normal channels and a few more like discovery and history.
We do have sky movies but might try and do without - no interest in sports.

Who does everyone recommend.

@ihatesundays

I got my Now TV Package on a ‘Black Friday’ deal last November £97 for a year subscription to Entertainment and movies Package they have just added first man and a star is born to the movies (so I think it’s updated quite quickly) there are hundreds of box sets including the good sky channels like sky arts and sky Atlantic. I tend not to use the live tv option because of the ads but there are some really good shows on there if you like the US dramas/cop show things like SWAT etc. And lots of nat geo wild and documentaries, it’s a bargain compared to a sky subscription to be honest. And you can pay monthly if you like (I used to do that but liked it so much I went for the years deal am hoping they do it again this year ) I also pay an extra £3.99 per month for the Hayu package as they have some brilliant real crime documentaries on it like snapped but I can stop that anytime, you can use Now TV over three devices and are able to download content to your iPad/tablet/phone whatever....They have also added subtitles to most of the content now , the only thing I can find to criticise is there is no auto play next episode if you are bingeing a box set but thats really not an issue. They offer a free month trial so you have nothing to lose. I wouldn’t be without it !

Hi OP

You mentioned earlier that you can watch Now direct on your tv without a box or stick, does that mean you have a smart tv already connected to internet?

If so it would usually have free view built in?

Might be worth looking up your tv manual online to see what you have already.

Another Now TV fan. I'm currently on a half price deal. I'll cancel when it ends and wait for them to offer me another reduction, which they usually do. You can use up to six devices so I share it with my family. They reciprocate with their Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts. We really get our money's worth.

@Lwmommy DH was wondering this! Not sure if we want taping capabilities though as assume you can’t do that?

I don't think you'll be able to record no, but if you google your tv make and model you should be able to find the manual that will tell you if you have free view and how to access it.
