Clearly we have our own crime issues. But the rate of rape and murder of women in India is abhorrent.

@ElizaPancakes I think maybe because the girl and her mother were sleeping in a train station and therefore particularly vulnerable.

I don't get what is wrong with some men in India. It always seems to be young children too and exceptionally violent.

Indian men are brought up to think they are God. Men are served, pandered to and sons bought up to think they are better than daughters. This creates an unbelievable sense of entitlement for men who then think that they can do whatever they want to women. Don't believe me? Try being born into such a culture.

I know they bandied around threats of capital punishment but it clearly isnt particularly effective.

I read that the likelihood of the men found guilty of the rape and murder of that poor woman in Delhi actually being executed is pretty low.

I wish I hadn't seen this thread :( there aren't even any words. What a world we live in.

I read that recently and said to my DH there are some absolutely horrific people in the world I can not comprehend this crime at all. That poor poor child.
