What to pack for 5 day city break?

I'm off to a European city for 5 days and it will be hot. We'll be doing lots of sightseeing and mooching about. Only have 10kg of baggage allowance to be taken into the cabin, budget airline.

I'm stuck on what to pack and how much? I need outfits for the day plus things than can look a bit dressier in the evenings?

It's only five days. Enough underwear, approx three skirts/trousers, five tops, cardigan/jacket for the plane, hat, sunglasses 😎 Sandals that you can walk all day in, maybe another pair for evenings.

Cut down on toiletries - work out what you can buy out there, decant anything you need to take into travel size bottles.

Check towels and hairdryer supplied in accommodation.

Any necessary medicines.

Depends on what you have clothes-wise, but I tend to just wear dresses for city breaks - they work for day and night (can wear first in evening, then in the daytime so no worries about it looking a bit tired for the evening). I'm a slattern when it comes to shoes, so just wear my Birkies for everything. Denim jacket for plane and cooler evenings, wear hat and sunnies. Buy toiletries there, or decant what you need to.

I normally take a fresh top per day plus one spare. 2-3 pair of trousers, if it’s hot I. Or ally take my hiking ones which can be shorten into shorts as they are lighter and dry fast when they get sweaty. If it’s hot you may want to change into another top in the evening.

A decent pair of shoes I can walk in all day plus a nicer one for evenings. The walking ones are worn on the flight.

Toiletries are minimum only, can you survive with the hotel stuff if your hotel is providing some? Otherwise get a travel size portion.

Pack trainers! Sightseeing in sandals is not fun! I was comfiest in a t shirt material floaty dress from H&M, think it was like £9!
