I have a weekend away, first time since my little one was born, and have woken up with a cold, I have taken some Beecham all in one liquid, but any other ways to help? I have a sore throat and running nose

Plenty of orange juice for the vitamin C?
Berocca to perk you up?
Hot water, lemon and honey is soothing fir your throat.

@Camomila thanks for that! Been taking vitamin C tablets, will get some berocca later!

Get some of that first defends nose spray and use it like there's no tomorrow. It really works well for me

Garlic!
I had a really bad cold once when travelling through S.America. Stopped on a coach journey and ate amazing Peruvian chicken soup - hot and steamy, full of spring onions and garlic. I felt a million times better afterwards.

I had this a few years ago when I was about to go to hospital for long awaited surgery, everyone at work was giving me advice, what worked for me was taking echinacea tablets (maximum dose) sucking propolis lozenges (these just taste like boiled sweets but are so soothing, whole family uses them now, far more effective than Tunes and Hacks)
I also got a stack of lemons and a jar of honey and drank honey and lemon drinks all the time. At bedtime I would add some whiskey to it!

My usually long lasting cold was over within a few days!

Good luck and enjoy your weekend!

Echinacea definitely, it's brilliant. Hope you feel better soon!

Well I brought some of the vicks first defence spray, and it seems to be keeping it at bay so far! I can still breath through my nose so that's a good thing!
