What happens when you take out your landline & someone phones you?

What message do they get? Does it just say 'It's not possible to connect your call' or 'This number is no longer available? - Just curious.

it just rings and rings.

My exdh (dickhead) gave his landline for his new place to the kids school and me. I tried it a few times, he never answered. Id phone his mobile and he’d answer straight away and be at home. One day i asked whether i had the right number as he never answered. He said yes. Read out number again asking if he is sure. He said yes and in a frustrated annoyed at my stupidity manner. Asked why he never answers it and he said, ‘i dont have a phone.’

I have a landline and have free calls at weekend. We dont use it hardly at all even then but it means people can ring us on it.

I think sometimes it is a odd ring tone or dead.
