I've tries pharmacy4u and Superdrug but they weren't reliable.
Meds not arriving and even meds not included in the package.
Now I've run out of meds despite ordering from
Superdrug on the 19th and their system telling me they'd been
ordered from the GP.
GP says no order received. Nightmare.

Are others any good?

I may be biased as I am a pharmacist but honestly the online ones do not really care about you as a patient.

Best to use your local pharmacy (independent pharmacy if you have one), most will offer an online or automatic order system for you plus you can speak to an actual human being if there is a problem.

To be honest OP I find them absolutely fine and have always got a fairly quick response via email, with no mistakes. Where there have been they have originated from the woefully bad service at my local GP surgery. I switched to online after getting fed up with my local pharmacy making errors and not being able to find prescriptions, never having items in, no callbacks when they do come in, rude members of staff etc.

I assume it's one of those things where you either get lucky or you don't, unfortunately.

PorterBella · 30/07/2019 21:25

I wish there was an independent pharmacy in my small market town, Jenni but here we're lumbered with 4 Boots chemists - 4 absolutely dire chemist shops.

Thanks for reply, dontgo I thought having meds delivered was a brilliant idea when I first heard about it but when it starts to go wrong it's like talking to a machine - it doesn't compute.

I've just discovered the online pharmacy I use(d) have been ordering things on my prescription that I've not asked for or received. Shock

So I'm on the look out for a new online pharmacy and wondering who to use.

TokyoSushi · 30/07/2019 22:21

Lloyd's online pharmacy are really good, thorough, quick turnaround, never had any issues.

BubblesBubbly · 30/07/2019 22:21

I’ve only ever used it once to purchase Ellaone. The transaction and emails were are fine, quick and simple. Bit when I went to pick it up the next day the pharmacists refused to dispense it as it was against his beliefs. Fair enough, but his pharmacy should have been flagged as one that doesn’t provide the service.

BubblesBubbly · 30/07/2019 22:22

Should say that was Lloyds

RozHuntleysStump · 30/07/2019 22:26

I use the echo app. Really recommend it. No problems whatsoever.

PorterBella · 31/07/2019 21:11

Thanks everyone, I'll give Lloyds a try I think.

I tried to sign up with boots and it wouldn't let me. I was asked for ID and proof of UK residency, I'm British and was born here so was baffled. I gave up with them in the end.
I'm with Pharmacy2U but they are indeed shite.
I'm considering just going back to my pharmacy who would do automatic prescription requests so they were waiting for me to collect.

thelonggame · 31/07/2019 21:16

I use Pharmacy-2-U and had no problems at all.
They send a reminder email, I click on what I want and it turns up about three days later through the letter box.

I was using my local boots repeat service and they were unreliable.

Whosafraidofvirginiawoofwoof · 31/07/2019 21:19

I’ve used the Well+ app recently and was amazed at how good the experience was. Especially being able to pre-book repeat prescriptions. But I think it does depend on your GP being on it.

TremoloGreen · 31/07/2019 21:22

Echo app is brilliant and much more reliable than boots whose text reminder/auto refill service was very patchy

TremoloGreen · 31/07/2019 21:23

Also dont have to go in and queue for ages to pick up the meds

Homecountieswhingebag · 31/07/2019 21:27

I’ve used Lloyd’s for the MAP and found them reliable, that was a one-off rather than a repeat prescription.
