If you’re at home today with dc, what are you doing?!

We aren’t away at the moment, had plans which had been rained off and now we are all bored!
We’ve done board games, baking and painting over the last couple of days, going swimming tomorrow which would have been my default option for today, any ideas?
The dds are teens and the youngest is 8.
Hoping for some inspiration Flowers

At that age I would expect them to entertain themselves tbh! Especially the teens. Reading, watching a film, chatting to friends etc.

BlackeyedGruesome · 30/07/2019 12:07

Computer phones drawing.

samlovesdilys · 30/07/2019 12:08

Swimming, coffee in town...now going to cinema with youngest, older ones can entertain themselves!!

listsandbudgets · 30/07/2019 12:12

Nothing much today. Reading, Nintendo switch and a bit of tidying. DD will help me cook dinner later. I'm doing some work.

We're going away for a few days from Thursday so tomorrow will be frantic packing and finding those missing bits

piefacedClique · 30/07/2019 12:14

Wee pal over to play, Xbox, pizzas in our pizza oven... movies and football in the dry spells (minutes) from the rain

TeenTimesTwo · 30/07/2019 12:14

With DD14.
Have done TV, Maths, TV, Writing, TV, Sorting her room a bit, TV.
This afternoon if it carries on tipping it down it will be:
Make chocolate brownies, film & popcorn, board game, TV.
If it stops raining a walk will be introduced somewhere.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 30/07/2019 12:15

Bond film marathon because it's pissing down outside

AuntieStella · 30/07/2019 12:16

We're all lying round like slugs

Elder DC were out until well past midnight last night, youngest went to her room fairly early but was then titting around on social media with her friends discussing the Love Island final for hours.

Not inspiring at all, but sometimes you need boredom days

I've been out for a long walk, and am now lazing around with coffee. I'm going to bake bread later, and write a nice letter to a family member who is going through a tough time.

Justabadwife · 30/07/2019 12:19

Today dd and I have played on the switch, I've messed about on my phone, shes done some cross stitch.
Shes made herself lunch.
This afternoon we are going to play board games.

GummyGoddess · 30/07/2019 12:19

I have two toddlers, so we've been to ballet class and now watching go jetters for a bit until lunch and then nap time. Probably cooking or cars in the afternoon. Not too useful for your ages though!

CakeNinja · 30/07/2019 12:20

They do entertain themselves but most of their friends are already away!
They are all watching a film together with some popcorn now.
Think I’ll take them for a walk and a Nando’s in a bit - I don’t do well doing nothing 😂
Feel like we’ve had a couple of ‘boring’ days and we were all enthused about our plans for the day until rained off. Typical weather!

My dc 8 and 6 are playing outside, I'm watching friends and eating. Going to soft play in a bit

Eminybob · 30/07/2019 12:26

Ds1 is 5, we have been making models this morning, are watching a film now while the glue dries and will paint them this afternoon. We had a very active weekend at Center Parcs so are having a chilled one today. Plus baby is ill and sleeping a lot so not making any attempts to leave the house at the moment. Ds1 has a swimming lesson later so will have to get us all out for that unfortunately.

CakeNinja · 30/07/2019 12:32

@Booboo66 ds has just gone and bounced on the trampoline in the pouring rain Grin
Not sure if he’ll still be in to soft play, haven’t been in years. He’s obviously not an only child but his sisters are after different activities so I ended up doing a lot of that stuff with him on his own and he didn’t have as much fun as the girls used to together.

What did you make models of? We have glue/tape/paints... the other day we made a castle which was pretty cool.

Nothing much really. I'm quite bored tbh but the girls are happy enough mooching about so I'll find things to do.

I've cleared out my underwear/sock drawer, and make up so far. Going to head up and see if I can sand some dried paint that got spilled on the blanket box any further back, so I can re-paint it, shortly. Might even tidy up my pj drawer too.

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 30/07/2019 12:36

I've got younger ones than you and 6,4 and 10 weeks but the baby is in a miserable mood a d it's raining buckets here so we are having a lazy day the kids are on their tablets or playing with Lego , it's not going to hurt them for today and they like the not doing anything but eating me out of house and home part !

Geraniumpink · 30/07/2019 13:00

I have fond memories of making an aquarium out of a cardboard box and suspending card fish and making seaweed.

Booboo66 · 30/07/2019 13:02

Mine love a play in the rain thankfully, strange children 😆. Rain has died off a little so are walking to soft play so that's an extra half hour activity. Neither of mine would be impressed with soft play without at least each other to play with. How about cinema?

dreichhighlands · 30/07/2019 13:47

I have industrial amounts of laundry to do. Before packing for holidays.
DC have music lesson but nothing else. Too much screen time will happen I expect.

Ds got a wooden craft kit for his bday and we made a robot, a “forky”-a-like puppet, a model of himself, and randomly a bowling alley.
