I've just bought lavender oil and I'm not sure if I'm using too much

Anyone into essential oils?
I had a friend once who said if you overdo lavender oil it can have the opposite effect to relaxation.
I'm burning it in an oil burner with water - well not burning it obviously, but diffusing it I suppose.
The reason I bought the actual oil was because I've a yankee lavender candle and found it relaxed me when I lit it in the living room in the evening for an hour before bed.
I've topped up my little oil burner 3 times now with 3-4 drops each time.
Am I over-doing it?

The other ones I use are tea tree oil as I love the smell and grapefruit or lemon as they leave a nice smell (tea tree isn't for everyone I guess) but I use those in the morning.

Anyone know?

Do you feel relaxed?

3-4 drops doesn't sound excessive. I love them, but I just enjoy them for the scent rather than any 'benefits'. I do have a few book espousing the healing effects of various combinations, I just use some of the suggested blends that I like the sound of.

You'll
Know if you overdo it as you'll feel headachy with the smell!

3-4 drops don't sound excessive. I burn a lot of
Essential oils and I usually combine them with others. Lavender goes well with geranium, Rose geranium, bergamot, grapefruit. I use it neat on my skin on bites and burns, some drops in my bath too.

Ye, I like the fragrance, but was hoping it might be a cheaper alternative to me Yankee candle which is on its last legs.
I suppose I do feel relaxed. Well I'm not wound up - so that's relaxed for me I suppose.

Essential oils are pricey with some bargains to be had, but not if you're a regular burner.

Yankee candle maybe use fragrance instead of essential oil? Something like this?

I got the 10ml bottle of pure lavender oil for £1.50 in Wilkos. Bargain I thought and the fragrance is quite good.

I want it for the relaxation/making you feel sleepy element rather than for the fragrance.
