Just curious - do you feel like 'past you' is a different person?!

When I think back to my last job, or when I lived at my last flat, it feels like I was a totally different person - it’s almost like I’m remembering a film rather than my own life. I’ve only been in my current job/place a couple of years and I’m in my 30s so I haven’t changed much! The further back I remember the stronger this feeling is.

Does everyone feel this way, is it normal? My husband says he doesn’t know what I mean at all, but not sure which one of us is the exception!

Yes. I am now married and a Mum. Even just before my son was born feels like a different time to me. Let alone before we got married and bought our house

Glad I'm not the only one Smile I don't have children yet, I can imagine the feeling only gets more intense when you do.

Yes, I also feel like this. That my past experiences are of a different persons.
I thought I was just odd.

Now I'm in my 50s, my 20s-30s year old self does feel like a different person. Life experiences have shaped me, good and bad, and I've matured in some ways emotionally and mentally. My reactions to people and events are different - I would hope I'm more compassionate and sympathetic if needed but I also have a lot less patience with idiots people taking advantage or posters who don't RTFT being horrible.
