Has anyone had treatment for emetophobia?

Ive been an emetophobe for as long as I can remember, maybe all my life. However recently I’ve noticed my anxiety around it has become much more noticeable. I really struggle on planes and have recently had quite a few panic attacks around being nervous of someone being sick near me.
I always thought it was something I could get around but after feeling nervous after seeing someone take some pain killers on the bus earlier I think I need to do something.
I’ve got a very very long flight to do later this year and I’m already worrying about the flight. I’m also not a nervous person in the slightest, it’s literally just this issue.
Wondering if anyone has had any kind of effective treatment?

Hi, I'm currently having CBT (for GAD) but that will soon be over and my therapist will refer me for some therapy specific to my emetophobia.

Its exposure therapy!!

Sorry, I've lived with this all my life too and haven't had treatment. However, I have found that age (I'm nearly 60) has made me far far less panicky. I have no idea why, whether it's exposure (I had five kids with concommitant vommity episodes) or just the hormones kicking out post menopause.

So I can't help re treatment, only offer a modicum of reassurance that it can get better on its own. To the extent that my son was telling me about going to a performance of 'Shit Faced Shakespeare' (they perform drunk) and one person holding a bucket in case of the main performer being 'taken ill' and I thought it sounded interesting, rather than running away with my fingers in my ears!

Yesss my friends love shit faced Shakespeare, there’s no way I could sit through that!
Interesting that yours is getting better, I feel like the older I get the worse it gets but could also be the time of year involving lots of flights etc.
