Car hire France, credit cards

I am hiring a car from an airport in France on Monday. The car hire is already paid for. I realised the other day that although I have a valid credit card, as required, I dont actually know the PIN for it. I requested a PIN reminder as soon as I realised, but it hasn't come. The car hire itself is paid for already, but they need credit card details for deposit etc. Is this going to be a problem, or will just the credit card details be enough? I'm panicking a bit now.

Sometimes if you are registered with Internet banking or use a phone app you can see the PIN within those functions.

But if you haven't already set up those functions I don't know if you can do them immediately, sometimes you have to have codes sent through the post.

You can also sometimes sign for the credit card instead of using the PIN, but I don't know if you have to arrange this in advance or is an option with every card. If this is an option, obviously make sure you have signed your card before you get to the car hire place.

I very occasionally come unstuck because I don't usually sign my cards because 99.9% of the time it doesn't seem necessary and then every once in a while someone asks to check the signature, usually to do with refunds in shops I think.

Thanks. Looks like there's no way of getting a PIN reminder now though, I requested it on Wednesday but it's too late now.

A few money sites seem to suggest it might be ok.

It's been 5 years since I hired a car so I cant remember how it works. I seem to recall having to pay a deposit on my credit card though, and they always think of something you owe. I think I might have had the same problem with a PIN before though, but I can't recall what happened. I only ever use my credit card online.
