Menorca 22-28 August. Anyone want to share a private boat trip?

Single mother with two children (6.5 and 9).

We are staying in Cala n Bosch.
I’d love to do a boat trip but don't relish prospect of one of the 4 hour boat trips with lots of people on board.

I have been recommended a company that does private boat trips. Room for 11. Includes the skipper, refreshments and snorkel and paddle board gear. It’s 650 euros for 3 hours. They will stop the boat to allow swimming and basically arrange a route dependent entirely on what we want. I’m easy.

Anyone fancy joining up to avoid the crowds? We could do 24/25/26 August ideally.

We are a very happy little threesome. My children are well behaved, happy, confident and strong swimmers. I’m content having a dip and then kicking back with a book and watching the world go by.

It’s a long shot but message me if interested!

650 euros for 3 hours is a huge amount, why are they charging so much? You might be better off to hire a small boat for the day, we did that recently for €100 euros for a 7 person boat for the day, we steered it ourselves.

You had a smaller boat and you skippered yourself (one of you had license presumably)

I’ve done lots of research and peak season for a private skippered boat with equipment - this is similar to them all.

When we went Calan Bosch we did the Cala galdana boat trip

It’s 1.5 hours out with 3 hour stay in calan galdana which is stunning then the boat back. We only paid about £70 family of four if I remember

Would this not suit? Cala galdana is actually one of the nicest places I’ve been

There’s loads of options available in resort and I don’t think any where that expensive!

Lovemenorca · 27/07/2019 13:29

@Lovemenorca
Thanks for that.

Was that a full day trip? 1.5 hour there, 3 hour stop and then 1.5 hour back? I’m looking for a morning 3 hour.

Cala n Gardena- what did you do there?

Thanks again

Yes it was 1.5 there, 3 hour stop (or maybe 2?) and journey back

It’s a stunning cove so we swam, snorkelled and had lunch beach side. It’s a tiny resort- google some images

It’s meant to be the nicest resort on island only has about 4/5 hotels

Thanks
Because we only there for short day... I don’t want a full day.

Where we are staying has a fabulous pool and both mine are water babies. They just want to swim and me for to be the captive audience saying how incredibly fast / amazing at diving etc etc they are!

I’ll persist as might get lucky when I’m there. I just fancy a quiet 3 hour sail with couple of stops for swimming.

We had a 7 person boat for 4 of us, lots of room, sun canopy, place at the back to jump into the sea. We didnt need a license, the company had public liability insurance. We were able to chuck down the anchor wherever and jump into the sea for a swim, or moor up if wanted. However, I had another adult with me to take turns steering, and I guess if you want someone to skipper it, that's going to cost a fair bit but at least it will free you up to be with the kids, and make you feel 'safer' with two adults incase of any mishaps. We did get our anchor stuck at one point 😣 Could you wait till you get there and see if you can haggle the price down a bit, as it seems such a lot of money?
