When do you start packing for a family holiday abroad?

I’m just in recovery for anxiety and this is one of my pinch points, I over prepare and get obsessed with checking. I just want to do it once, tick things off my list as they go in. There’s five of us, kids and husband are helpful and will gather but I would rather be the one that sees it go in the case.

When would you get the cases out and start putting things in? I’m working right up until we go which is a bit of a nightmare. I’d have preferred the day before off.

I’m going for cool, calm and collected this year instead of anxious, stressed and snappy. Help me be!

Money parking and hotel (we stay overnight before we fly) are all booked together as far in advance as possible.

Then for a few.weeks I have a box which I drop useful stuff into as I pick them up. And I out an amazon order in for whatever we need we haven't got....snorkelling kit this year.

A few days before we then get cases down and the dc are warned it needs to be in the wash 2 days before we go if they wish to take it. And we do a shopping trip for holiday clothes.

Then we pack the day before we go. I have a list. I give them a list. They pack for themselves as teens but have been doing it for years now. I just then run through the "have you got...?" List before we go.

I'm in love with packing cubes for helping pack easily and tidily..

Ooh I have the box too! Anything we but new for holiday goes in it or things we aren’t using before we go.
