What tv series do your 12/13 year olds watch?

DD wants to watch a tv series, she asked to watch Riverdale but having viewed some I don’t think it’s appropriate for her.
So am looking for ideas please.

My 12 yo loves riverdale, her and her friends are obsessed with it. There are some more mature storylines but I watched every episode with her and didn’t find anything too bad, was there if she had a question about anything too. A little scary/dark but she liked that.
She loves stranger things too.

Blackadder, Outnumbered, Big Bang theory and Top Gear lately.

AnnaFiveTowns · 25/07/2019 20:13

Pretty Little Liars, Riverdale, Plebs, Friday Night Dinner, Gossip Girl...

Stranger Things, Brooklyn 99, Good Omens, Marvel Agents of Shield. She also likes dipping in and out of the American Office. My elder daughter watches Riverdale - she started watching it when she was 13.

@AnnaFiveTowns I totally misread what you wrote and thought you meant your teen watched Big Little Lies and not Pretty Little Liars! I was about to say whaaaaat?? 😆

Mac47 · 25/07/2019 20:46

Greys anatomy
Friends
Big bang theory
Big little lies (don't do it, V sweary and violent)
Modern family
Friday night dinner
IT crowd

RainbowSparkles · 25/07/2019 21:07

Thank you, she has seen a lot of these.
We thought about pretty little liars so I’ll get her going on her own with that.
Good idea to watch Riverdale together, I work a few evenings a week so this can be some quality time the nights I’m not working.
My DH has watched stranger things and isn’t sure she will like it, might get her to check that out as well.

Yy sherlock is a good call

The Grand Tour. Endless repeats of old Top Gear on Dave. This week he's been glued to Planespotting Live. Polit training videos on YouTube. Anything involving people/plot/storylines, though - forget it!

CharDeeMacDennis · 25/07/2019 21:41

11 and 14 year olds both like:

Parks and Recreation
Doctor Who
The Good Place
Community
Brooklyn 99
Mythbusters

Itstheprinciple · 25/07/2019 22:35

My 12 year old has watched all of Riverdale and Pretty Little Liars. Also Little Britain but actually I thought that was closer to bone than the obvious Dramas. She has been watching a lot of Friends (that's ruder than I remember!) i really wouldn't worry about Riverdale.

I will not allow Love Island in my house though. That is where my line is drawn!
