menstrual migraines and combined pill

I suffer from menstrual migraines either a few days before a period or during or both. I occasionally have one at ovulation time too. Basically they are all down to my hormones.

I feel so ill before and/or during periods with cramps, nausea, tiredness, brain fog and the awful debilitating migraines. I am on propranolol twice daily and sumatriptan when I have a migraine. This takes the edge off the pain but not that effective.

My doctor has prescribed the combined pill to take without a break to keep hormonal levels constant without the 7 day break. I used to take the pill for years and it seemed to help but I am nervous about going back on it due to increased stroke risk and in case it makes migraines worse.

I tried cerazette(progesterone only) years ago and it made my migraines shocking so I came off it.

Does anyone have any experiences of taking the combined pill for menstrual migraines and did it work for you?
