Is it safe to leave fans on overnight?

We've all got a fan in our rooms - wouldn't sleep in this heat otherwise. But I've been leaving a big fan on downstairs overnight for our old Labrador and am worried it might be dangerous. Could they overheat/catch fire?

If you're not worried about the upstairs fans, why would the downstairs fan be an issue?

Anything could overheat and catch fire. But a fan is designed to go round and round without overheating - that's its purpose. So in this weather I wouldn't lose sleep over it!

No idea but I hope so because all of mine are on.
Tbh, I'm not sure I'd notice if the house was on fire right now...
