She’s been so miserable and grumpy today due to the heat and tomorrow is meant to be even hotter 😫 She gets fed up and bored being in the house all day. We went for a walk earlier this morning when it was cooler and just been for a little mooch to the shop for some bits but I really don’t want to take her out too much in it. She been so whingy all day, I’m dreading tomorrow. Any ideas of what I can do to keep her entertained would be appreciated!!!!

I spend a lot of time in supermarkets!!! They’re always air conditioned and if you find one with a nice cafe you could have lunch there and fill a couple of hours. Maybe meet someone?

Or fill a paddling pool or washing up bowl with water and let her play outside in the shade?

When both my sons get like that, I put them in a cool bath with their bath toys and treat it like a paddling pool. It cools them down and keeps them occupied for a little while.

Swimming/paddling pool in the shade or even a long splash in the bath?

Walk round Iceland/Farmfoods?

Air-conditioned cafe for lunch?

I feel your pain - it's horrible in this heat!

If you run her t-shirt under the cold tap and wring it out and put it on her a bit damp that might keep her cool for a while?

Cool bath

Shopping trip to air con supermarket

Walk early morning /eve

A nice afternoon siesta with mummy in front of a fan 😉

Why did I not think of a bath!! That’s a great idea! Thank you! I don’t have a paddling pool as yet but may also have to invest in one! Early walk, bath splash time and a supermarket trip it is!! Going out for some lunch somewhere cool is a great idea too!

I used to put ds in his baby bath outside for a splash around.

Toys in a washing up bowl is good too just for a splash of they don't like actually sitting in.

Today DD and I have been to baby cinema and then a big garden centre for a walk around and lunch. Tomorrow we have bought a paddling pool and some toys and we'll just be in the shade in the garden

If you are going to buy a pool I highly recommend a solid plastic one. I got dds about 4 years ago and they are still going strong. They cost me about £10 each from the entertainer. Now they are 10 and 7 they are more filled up ready for water fights or to put toys into. They are left outside all winter and haven't suffered for it. Plus with being smaller my garden isn't overtaken and I don't use a ridiculous amount of water filling them!

I've got a South facing garden, I've bought a small pop up gazebo this year and it's brilliant loads of shade and my girls were able to play outside for several hours without getting overheated 😁 plus I could put it up by myself!
