Anyone else's kids not even phased by this hideous heatwave?

The kids room is in the attic and very warm. They are spark out. The last few nights ive asked if they want windows open/fans/sheets instead of duvet etc. The answer has always been no. Dd even said "this is the perfect temperature".

It's not. She is clearly the devil in one of its forms.

I'm lay here a floor below fan on, windows open, cold flannel on my brow.

Anyone else's kids just totally rocking the heatwave?

Mine is fine, too. Still wants his duvet.

SarahAndQuack · 23/07/2019 22:23

Yep.

I thought this would be the perfect weather for potty training, as it's so hot I figured she'd need to drink loads and would be happy in minimal clothing.

Approximately 43 washloads later, and with DD persistently grabbing her winter coat with cries of 'I wear! I want!' I have admitted defeat.

OTH, I've burned quite nastily across my shoulders, while she is still her natural pale olive with no sign of extra tan. Hmm

My DD seems unfazed and we’ve been out and about all day. She’s just got a vest but she’s sleeping soundly. I on the other hand will likely toss and turn all night. Woke up to my DPs leg draped over me which was all sweaty! Bleurgh!

TokyoSushi · 23/07/2019 22:26

Yes, both completely fine and fast asleep under duvets (6 & 8 so not babies who could overheat)

I on the other hand am still in the garden, I can't even bear to go inside its so hot!

AlunWynsKnee · 23/07/2019 22:30

Ds was wearing his onesie earlier Hmm

BakewellGin1 · 23/07/2019 22:33

DS10 insists it isnt that hot... but I insist on him having fan on in his loft room.
DD 4 Months isn't bothered at all but admittedly has spent his day and night in a nappy and sleeveless vest. He is in my room which is quite warm so sleeping in vest and cellular blanket only

AguerosAngel · 23/07/2019 22:34

DS doesn’t bat an eyelid however warm it is, we’ve been abroad and it’s been high 40’s and he doesn’t even break a sweat!

Proves my point that he is in fact Lucifer in disguise!

Camomila · 23/07/2019 22:42

DS (half Italian, half Philipino) is not in the least bit bothered.

When I had to have a bit of a lie down in front of the fan earlier (pg and poorly). He came to 'help' by snuggling up with me and bringing all the large cuddly toys for a snuggle too. It was so cute but so not helpful to me cooling down.

Mine, both go to sleep the minute thier heads hit the pillow, I wish I was that bloody easy. I have a hard time in normal weather let alone this unbearable shit 😩

Passmethecrisps · 23/07/2019 22:45

It’s not blistering here (Scotland) but my house it very warm inside being a 60s bungalow. 2 year old’s room is currently 29oC. She needs a bag to sleep ao she is currently looking pretty sweaty. Her big sister is prancing around in a vest and knickers. She loves this
