Fevertree are too expensive and not all that....

There's a thing on MSN about how their profits are down and they are blaming the weather.
I think that they are just too expensive.
My local sells a measure of flavoured gin for £3.30 but then a tiny bottle of fevertree is £2.20!
Their tonic is very sweet compared to others so presuming that's why it's so popular, but the other (ginger ale, bitter lemon etc)s are no better than Schweppes or supermarket own brand are they?
Does anyone think that they are worth the premium?

Lidl tonic in bottles with yellow cardboard label is great!

I hate artificial sweeteners. They ruin the gin. I'd rather pay a bit more and drink a bit less, but enjoy it properly. It's Fever Tree for me all the way, and I really like the flavoured tonics when I'm not having anything alcoholic.

I hate Fever Tree, I think it tastes revolting. I like one called, I think, Merchant Gate, that I tried recently.

Aldi tonic is nice, as pp mentioned, but it goes flat extremely quickly. It is definitely a contender for fevertree taste-wise but when I had it, the bottle went flat over the course of a few hours, didn't even last out the evening.

I also like Aldi tonic. It's not as good as fevert ree, but is at least a quarter of the price. I like my tonic slightly sweeter. My favourite is fever tree Mediterranean. I love it on it's own as well as in a citrus style gin.

I've made 3 different variations of rhubarb cordial this summer and can confirm it is excellent with gin
