What do I want for my birthday?

I have a big birthday coming up and parents, husband, in laws are asking me what I want.
I genuinely don't want anything but that is apparently not acceptable. I don't really like big expensive gifts, they make me very uncomfortable!
What were you given for your 40th birthday that you love?

DM gave me money for my 40th that I used to buy a nice leather purse, which I use every day and is still in lovely condition several years later.

I'm also a 'no stuff' person and am much more about bottles of fizz of any variety from Aldi £5 cava to English sparkling wine at £20 to £30 a bottle. Also, I'd never say no to a bottle of gin, again I'm not fussy and I love the premium supermarket ones at around £16 just as much as expensive brands at 2 or 3 times this price.

Otherwise, I'd want meals out with family and - possibly more than one, with family, friends and DP.

Bigger spends would go on special holidays or weekends away.

Not 40 but has the same conundrum for my birthday. I asked for experiences - spa day/theatre/ exhibition at a gallery in London and lunch.

I'm a keen knitter and I crochet so I asked for fancy wool and vouchers for Wool Warehouse.

Nicer versions of things you like? So for me it's fancy gin, wool and a posh lunch!

DB sent me an amazon gift voucher which has been fab. I've been able to add it to my account and get a few bits I've had my eye on.

My 40 th was nearly 3 years ago now ouch!!

My Dad gave me a lovely Rose gold plated watch by DKNY which I wear everyday.

My late Nan gave me some Nike trainers which I still keep looking nice & wear to the gym.

My sister gave me a sparkly Links bracelet which I wear on special occasions.

My mum got me earrings; & best friends got me jewellery too.

For my 50th I had gift vouchers for my favourite high street restaurant where I like to go for lunch with dd when she's home from uni and theatre tickets. I was very pleased with them because it showed thought for gifts I'd appreciate.
