So much for the lovely peaceful evening I planned (a whinge!!)

DP and DD away so just me and DS (6) at home.

Got DS to bed at 8pm and planned myself a lovely peaceful evening with a big bowl of macaroni cheese and the TV.

8.20pm macaroni cheese ready, take it out put it on a tray. 8.21pm DS comes down stairs wanting a drink and almost immediately drops and smashes the glass.

8.22pm shattered glass and squash all over the floor and he steps on piece of glass and screams. Leap foward (forgetting I'm in bare feet) and stand with BOTH feet on pieces of glass then slip in the bl**dy sqash and land flat on my back. Miraculously I managed to not get any more cuts on landing!

By 8.45 had finally managed to extricate glass from 3 feet, obviously did DS's first plaster everything up and stop DS wailing.

Then swept and mopped the floor (this time with shoes on!) and went back to reheat my macaroni cheese to discover the cats had eaten it

My head and back hurts from falling, I've got 3 cuts in one foot and 2 in the other and I'm not sure I've got all the glass out and my dinners been stolen...

Damn it... I'm ordering a curry with all the trimmings.

Right now I wish I drunk... but know I mustn't.

The cats are happy though :)

Hope all of you are enjoying a more peaceful evening than me

Enjoy your curry!

I've just had to clean up a poo incident in the bathroom (not mine!)

Oh that’s a comedy of errors! Sorry your quiet evening was ruined.

Sorry about your evening but it does make a good thread... hope the rest of your evening is enjoyable and glass free

Lovethetimeyouhave · 22/07/2019 21:27

Omg who would have imagined!

listsandbudgets · 22/07/2019 21:32

I suspect I'll be able to laugh about it in the morning... but not right now.

Have ordered curry, rice, naan, and chicken tikka... and a lifelong subscription to Weight Watchers

When I was little, any time anything got smashed my mum would order us to "STAND STILL DO NOT MOVE!"

To this day I automatically stand still and then realise I'm the only one here so I have to clean it up!

listsandbudgets · 22/07/2019 21:36

LOL Buzz. Funnily enough I actually say the same to DCs but DS moved and dropped simultaneously if you see what I mean!!

Cant believe I was such an idiot as to jump on it :(
