The dc are away. We can do what we like! This has just sunk in. Live Urmston. Thinking tram to town and dinner in non-chain, non-posh. Or walking to Chorlton also an option. Its so nice out.

No chinese indian or Thai. Looking for light food. Could do Japanese or tapas or British/ french/seafood....

Ideas please! Off to Google.

Street Urchin in Ancoats has had good reviews, I've not been there yet though so can't verify!

ZenNudist · 22/07/2019 18:03

I read about sea urchin in confidential. Pondering if NQ is too much of a trek

princesstinnedpeach · 22/07/2019 18:04

I've not actually been as it's quite new and I'm pregnant so off seafood, but I've heard multiple rave reviews of the Oyster Catcher in Chorlton.

ZenNudist · 22/07/2019 18:04

You must eat out a lot if you have been to every restaurant in Urmston, every time you blink there's a new one.

LightDrizzle · 22/07/2019 18:08

Dishoom!
It’s great.

Timepasses · 22/07/2019 18:09

Dimitris on deansgate. Few mins walk from the tram stop. I live and work in Manchester and its one of my absolute favourites

Doublevodka · 22/07/2019 18:10

I know you said not Indian, but I've heard Dishoom on Bridge Street is amazing. I've still not been yet.

princesstinnedpeach · 22/07/2019 18:11

Dying to try Dishoom too!

Doublevodka · 22/07/2019 18:12

My favourite is the Armenian in Albert Square though. I always end up there.

Snipples · 22/07/2019 18:30

Oh dimitris is fab. I used to live in manc and spent many a lovely night here. Good shout! Get the sangria.

ZenNudist · 22/07/2019 18:35

Dmitris is a good shout. Take me less time than walking to Chorlton!

FredaFox · 22/07/2019 19:45

Dishoom is lush, Dimitris also good, agree with 00 pizza, love Don Juan but it's getting a table
Evuna does good tapas or El Gato Negro but that's obviously a bit more ££
Rudys pizza is always good

ZenNudist · 22/07/2019 20:29

The power of mumsnet.

Zen: "Im walking to Chorlton

Gosh, I worked in Manchester 20 years ago and remember Dimitris. I had a date there now I recall. Is it really still there?

South Manchester is amazing for restaurants.

mygrandchildrenrock · 22/07/2019 22:25

Dimitri is a good friend of my OH, and I posted a link to this thread on his social media. We remember Dimitri opening the restaurant. Good to know it's still as popular as it was.
