It’s about the disappearance of Susan Powell and it’s just Shock
I haven’t finished it yet, I’m about halfway through but feel the need to talk to someone about it, only no one has listened! I’d never heard of the case previously and I’m now so surprised about that...

I'm a big true crime fan. Have been over many years. My favourite author is Ann Rule. It's a shame she is no longer with us.

I've never heard of the Susan Powell case. Just checked Amazon and there is a book by Greg Olson and Rebecca Morris but it only gets 2 stars. I'll check google to get more info.

Do you listen to podcasts? I really recommend Cold.
If not there’s a book about the case by Jennifer Graves called A Light In Dark Places - she’s actually the sister of the accused but was very much not on his side and tried to find the truth

I haven’t found that one, but will add it to my list. I listen to True Crime Junkies, They Walk Among Us and Casefile.

I really enjoyed Cold on the whole but thought it lost momentum a bit in the last third of the episodes.

pusspuss9 · 21/07/2019 21:05

Thank you Bella. I don't listen to podcasts (not sure how!) but will ask my Dg's tomorrow to help me out of them. I'll check into the book as well.

pusspuss9 · 21/07/2019 21:08

Just ordered the book on Amazon

Liadan · 21/07/2019 21:13

The story is so awful. I'm not sure how far you are into the podcast so don't want to spoil it for you.

DivisionBelles · 21/07/2019 21:47

I love a bit of true crime. Will add this to my list. I'm currently into The Lady Vanishes, not technically a crime, at the moment anyway, but gripping nonetheless.

Bellasblankexpression · 21/07/2019 22:19

Thanks @Liadan I’ve got a few episodes to go but I know where it’s heading :(

@pusspuss9 I hope you ... well like it is probably the wrong word... but I’ll be interested to know what you think of the book

I love crime podcasts!

“Criminal Minds” is awesome.

Cutantrim · 21/07/2019 23:37

Sorry, I haven’t heard that podcast but I’ve just subscribed!

Bellasblankexpression · 22/07/2019 09:57

I’ll check out criminal minds, thanks!

@Bellasblankexpression The Lady Vanishes is an Australian podcast about a woman went travelling to the UK and literally vanished. Her daughter suspects foul play but the Aus police have refused to help. It turns out she returned to Australia but the trail went cold. It's really good.

Bellasblankexpression · 22/07/2019 11:43

Thank you! I will check it out

I haven't heard that one, OP, but I love a bit of true crime podcasting (am listening to some Casefile podcasts at the moment) so will give it

NiLunNiLautre · 22/07/2019 15:52

Sorry, give it a go soon.

ZootSuit · 16/08/2019 21:09

@Bellasblankexpression I am listening to Cold after seeing your post on here op, I’m at episode 13 now (4thekidz) and finding it absolutely gripping, frustrating and fascinating.
Weirdly look forward to my drive to and from work so I can listen.
Thanks for the recommendation
