Loosestrife I think.

Knittedfairies · 21/07/2019 11:41

Yes, loosestrife.

Zaphodsotherhead · 21/07/2019 12:47

St John's Wort?

wowfudge · 21/07/2019 12:52

Loosestrife or Lysimachia. Definitely not St John's Wort.

NanTheWiser · 21/07/2019 13:30

Definitely Lysimachia.

Beekeeper1 · 21/07/2019 13:39

Yes, yellow garden loostrife (Lysimachia punctata)

I always thought they were called golden rods but this post has got me looking them up and it seems I’ve been wrong for years. Now I’ll have to try and remember loosestrife. Anyway they’re very bright and cheerful!

'Garden Loostrife' and it will stread like wildfire!

tobeforgotten · 22/07/2019 10:07

I think my neighbour (in her 80s) calls them golden rod

Golden rod is a different plant also known as Solidago - sometimes seen in flower arrangements but not considered modern.
