Why am I so stressed re birthday party at home?

DD (8) turned down all birthday party ideas. She wants a play date at home with her 6 closest friends.
I'm so overwhelmed. The house is immaculate, I've planned a couple of activities, some party food and a play list on spotify. So, all should go well?
I'm just so used to "organised' parties when I turn up with a cake, lol!

Your dd and her friends will have a lovely time, guaranteed

Can we swap? I want a party at home. My nearly 8yo dd wants a big party in a hall with all her friends! A party at home is so easy and fun!

I loved parties at home.

Why are parties at home better?

Not necessarily better - but 'as good as'.

I like catering. And baking cakes. And decorating the table.

Sounds sweet. I had seven 8 year old boys over for ds birthday last week. They like wrestling. Loudly. It was UTTER chaos. Enjoy your tea party though, it sounds lovely!
